April was found out on a community with several dog bite wounds, after being taken to the ASAS for treatment, RDA was asked to take her on so she could be raised around other horses.
April has been broken in slowly by our Horse Manager and has started in lessons during 2023 Term 3. As she grows we will start to use her more often.

Charlee came to RDA from a local lady who was downsizing her herd, she has fitted into her role of therapy pony well. Charlee is used for cuddles and pats as well as traveling to the hospital and Old Timers.

Gem has come from a personal friend in town, she is filled with sass but is going to be an awesome replacement for Ulysses. We don't have a lot of history on her but she is a sweet and forgiving mare, with routine she will settle.
JINKA

As one of our current lease horses Jinka is the worlds laziest dude, he is our go to for new riders to make sure they're safe and in control before moving onto a different horse.
Jinka has a special story, he was found in a remote community with an injury, he pretty much came up to the members of the community asking for help.

Kevin is new to us in 2023, he was swapped for another pony who didn't suit us as much. Kevin is a cheeky but sweet old man who loves his kids but also loves to make them work hard at what they want.
MONTE

After retiring off the track, Monte went to the Horse Manager for his retraining. Unfortunately for her Monte decided he would rather be the worlds laziest thoroughbred and after his flawless trial Monte is loving being at RDA Alice Springs.
ODIN

Odin is our resident big boi, he came from a show home and is settling into his lazy life. Odin isn't the best at jumping but he can turn very well and is ideal for the dressage and gymkhana terms.
STORM

Storm was a fluke find as he had ingested a native toxic weed that targets the horses nervous systems. This means that he would be unable to work long days anymore in his old home, Storm struggled to keep condition and weight. After 3 years of consistent feed and keeping him away from the weed he has come back looking and feeling amazing!
ELVIS

Elvis has had the last 3-4 years off in and around town, before that he was raced only 27 times. Elvis is still learning to be a quiet RDA pony but he has a very sweet personality and is showing promise.
During terms 2 & 3 of 2023 Elvis has decided he likes the lazy life, he has settled right down and is loving all the cuddles and attention.
HONEY

Honey was bought from SA, she was quite anxious at the start but has since settled into a lovely forward but consistent horse. Honey is one of the worlds sweetest natured horses and always tries her best.

Joey is one of our Off The Track Thoroughbred horses, meaning he raced here in Alice Springs! Once retired Joey went to a friend who had Gem at the time then spent 2 years with our Uni studying coach Chloe.
LILLY

Lilly came to us from Melbourne Carriage Hire, she is almost 800kg and the sweetest lady in the herd. Lilly loves to jump and especially loves to graze on the green grass around the park.

Molly came to RDA AS from hot and humid Darwin, we think she likes our weather better though. Molly wasn't given the best care before RDA took over her and as such she is still struggling to gain weight and muscle. Luckily we've got the best Vet and Horse Manager who spends their waking hours researching feeds and supplements to ensure she gets the best care.
PANDA

Retired rodeo bronc is not something we'd usually look into for a quiet RDA horse, but with his shape and size being ideal our Horse Manager decided to give him a chance. Panda has some issues with being caught but once he's wearing his halter, Panda is the sweetest and most respectful horse we could ever own.

Wanda came with Charlee from in town, she is also used by the unmounted programs and is great to help teach confidence before handling a full sized horse.

Another OTT TB who had raced in town, Zola spent a lot of time trying to find her place in the after racing life. As far as we know she started in town, then was sold on as she didn't suit her owner, travelled around down in SA a bit before coming back to a lovely lady. Zee then went to Chloe's dad who was also a rider at RDA and since their move to SA we've leased her, just don't tell Steve he's not getting her back.
