Volunteers are our most precious asset in making the dreams
of RDA Alice Springs a reality.
Our centre simply wouldn’t run without our volunteers, who donate their time, effort and talents to sprinkle some magic over the lives of our special needs children and their families. Having our special volunteers means our staff can leave after lessons and know the horses are being professionally cared for.
Available Volunteer Times
Starting Monday 5th February 24
RDA Alice Springs are currently seeking volunteers to assist the Centre. We are needing people to fill our volunteer spaces each week, shift workers and short term workers are welcome.
We have a variety of volunteer spaces available on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

Feeding
We are always looking for more volunteers to assist in feeding our hungry horses. Our feeders are put on a weekly roster, so the commitment is one shift per person, per week. All new volunteers are paired up with a current member to ensure that no one gets lost when they are learning how to do a feed.
(PLEASE NOTE FEEDERS ARE ON HOLD AT THE MOMENT)
Lesson Volunteers
Our lesson volunteers assist in teaching our riders to be safe, and keep a watchful eye on them as the coach works with each student. We are always on the lookout for volunteers during lessons, mostly Wednesdays with Acacia Hill School, and Saturdays with the younger children.
Training
We cover all costs and train all volunteers – whether feeders or assisting with lessons.
